Travelling to and around Hamburg
Travelling to Hamburg
Hamburg is well connected internationally by air and railway. We recommend the following websites for planning your journey to Hamburg (we are not sponsored by any of these companies):
- Deutsche Bahn (rail)
- Skyscanner (air)
- Flixbus (long-distance bus)
Note that Hamburg has three main railway stations, with Hamburg-Dammtor being within walking distance to the conference venue.
Travelling around Hamburg
Hamburg has an excellent public transport system with many stops in the immediate area of the University and the workshop venue. The most important stops are Hamburg-Dammtor (for suburban and long-distance train), Stephansplatz (for metro line U1), Hallerstraße (metro, U1), Universität/Staatsbibliothek (bus, M4/M5) and Grindelhof (bus, M4/M5). Other ways to get to the workshop venue and around Hamburg include e-scooters and the very popular bicycle sharing system, StadtRad.
