Last update: 4 August 2022
Entering Germany:
There are hardly and international travel restrictions to and from Germany, except concerning areas with new virus variants. Saving these, you are not required at present to show proof of vaccination or recovery to enter the country. Latest official information is available on the website of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Moving around Hamburg:
Mask-wearing is mandatory in all means of public transport in Hamburg, including transportation from/to Airport, as well as in hospitals and surgeries. Masks are not mandatory to enter shops, restaurants or museums or to walk around town. It is advised to carry a mask with you at all times. Detailed information is available here.
Hamburg University Covid Policy:
Mask-wearing is recommended indoors, but not mandatory at present. All buildings are aired, and hand sanitizers are widely provided. The University follows all common Covid-related recommendations. Detailed information is available here.
LL13 Recommendations:
As in other international conferences in the summer of 2022, protective measures against Covid are in practice subject to individually specific conditions of risk. LL13 endorses the following recommendations:
- We recommend mask-wearing in crowded situations, e.g. queuing up for registration or coffee.
- Mask-wearing in the session rooms is subject to your own personal judgement. By all means do wear a mask to protect yourself, if you so wish. All rooms are cleaned daily and aired properly during sessions and breaks.
- Exercise caution in your social interactions during LL13 for the sake of your own and others' health. Remember that other delegates may be more vulnerable than you are or feel.
- Do not attend if you are positive. If you experience Covid-related symptoms, please test before attending.
